We can also provide training on PCV vehicles. However, we no longer have access to a vehicle so if you require this training, you will have to provide the vehicle you wish to train on.

C+E Training.

Once you have completed your C test, you may wish to continue your training towards driving an articulated lorry. Your licence will already have the C+E provisional entitlement after passing your C test, and as you will not need to complete a medical or complete another theory test, we can start straight away on your practical training. Training can be at a pace to suit you, with weekend training available by arrangement.Once you are test ready, we will organise your practical test for you. Congratulations, you are now able to drive both C and C+E classes of vehicles.

D&B TRAINING LTD
GETTING YOUR LICENCE

From September 10th 2009, the minimum age for learning to driver a C and C+E vehicle has been reduced from 21yrs to 18yrs. So if you are looking to learn to drive a lorry, but were not old enough, contact us now to commence your training.

Before you can drive the articulated lorries, you will first need to pass your C (Class 2) test.

Firstly you will need to fill in your provisional licence application form. These forms are only available from Driving Centres, so you will need to arrange an appointment to come to our training centre.
During this appointment, you will receive your paperwork and also for a deposit which is refunded, you will also receive your multiple choice and hazard perception training disks so you can start your revision straight away.

The next stage is for you to complete your paperwork and organise your medical. Your local Doctor should be able to complete this for you, or alternatively, we have our own Doctor who completes our medicals so please do not hesitate to ask about us arranging your medical for you. Please be aware that there is a cost involved in obtaining your medical.

Once the medical is complete, you will need to send your completed paperwork to the DVLA to obtain your provisional entitlement. Whilst you are waiting for your provisional licence to return, you should take advantage of this time to study for your theory tests.

Once you are comfortable with the theory and hazard perception tests, and your provisional licence has been returned to you, you should be ready to take your theory tests. We can arrange your tests for you. The Theory Test has recently been updated, and now consists of two separate tests - The Multiple Choice Theory Test and the Hazard Perception Test.

Once you have passed both tests, you will now be ready to complete your practical training. Training can be arranged at a pace to suit you, with weekend training available by arrangement.

Once you are test ready, we will organise your practical test.

Congratulations, you have now passed your "C" licence.

Now you need to concentrate on your C+E licence.
