COSHH
(Control of Substances Hazardous to Health)
Thousands of people are exposed to
hazardous substances at work. If
the exposure is not prevented or properly controlled, it can cause serious illness, sometimes even death. It
can also result in lost earnings, reduced productivity and expensive
prosecutions. Under the COSHH Regulations 1999, employers must undertake
suitable and sufficient risk assessments of substances in use and the
effectiveness of their control measures.
